The Family Behind Family Tree Records

The Family Behind Family Tree Records

Family Tree Records is a music label and recording studio owned and operated by Adam & Lynette Sweely. The Sweely’s main drive in opening the label comes down to their love of music. In fact, they actually met at Groverfest Music Festival, nearly 10 years ago. Adam was figuring out the best way to destroy his tent for the weekend while Lynette's friend helped him navigate to the adjacent camp site. The next day, Adam stayed with Lynette to see the Sun Dried Vibes act, which unfortunately had to be missed due to automotive issues with the band, and the rest is history for those 2.

With Adam’s background in engineering, it made sense for them to open a studio, which they did. This first studio helped get their feet wet, but sadly went down in flames when one of the partners exited the agreement...with most of the studio equipment in tow.

This setback left both of them feeling discouraged and unsure of how to proceed. Facing not only the mountain of work now in front of them, but also another financial investment of purchasing new gear, they ultimately decided to plant their feet in and get back to it.

This time though, once things started going well for them with what would eventually become Family Tree Records, their own family would grow by 2 as they welcomed Lily Rose (3) and Asher (1) into their lives. While their children are definitely their world, it did create issues with time management that needed to be overcome in order to work a full time job, raise a family, and still focus on a side business.

Enter Daniel Hoover & Daniel Lachimia. Recognizing the talent and emotion already present, these 2 were eager to come on board to help the label flourish. Now, equipped with new equipment, a new location, and a new team behind them, Family Tree Records is officially moving into the scene as a prominent label who respects their artists. Putting family first, and music a close second, the crew work hand in hand with their artists as an extension of the family. Focused more on the overall quality of not only the artists but the artist's career, than on the bottom line being made from each artist.

We love music and want to help put as much of it out there as we can. That’s why we want to help our artists succeed regardless of the bottom line. If they have a soul and quality music, we want to help them and love that our family is constantly growing!
